Overview

The University of Strathclyde was voted Number 1 by students in a recent Times survey. Founded in 1796, the University of Strathclyde is based in the heart of the vibrant and friendly Scottish city of Glasgow. The tradition of 'useful learning' is at the heart of Strathclyde's ethos and has contributed to the University's clutch of excellent rankings for teaching and research.

As well as offering you a flexible, innovative learning environment, the University of Strathclyde wants to help you fully experience one of the world's must-see cities. Glasgow offers a vibrant arts scene, cutting-edge music, great sporting facilities, legendary nightlife, an exciting selection of places to eat out, and much more.

Academic Highlights

The Strathclyde Business School is one of an elite group of schools to achieve triple accreditation from AACSB International, EQUIS and AMBA placing it in the top 1% of business schools worldwide.  The Faculty of Engineering is one of the UK's leading centers of engineering education and research, consistently achieving the highest ratings in official assessments of teaching quality and research.  EuroLearn students can also take classes in The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Location

Strathclyde has its own Campus Village, right in the heart of Glasgow. The city of Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland with approximately 650,000 people.  Named the "coolest city in the UK" by the National Geographic Traveler and the "UK's favorite tourist city destination" by Condé Nast Traveler, Glasgow is a great place to live and study, with a huge variety of things to see and do and a tremendous reputation for friendliness.

Glasgow is undoubtedly the UK's best-preserved Victorian city with over 70 public parks. The city is home to over 20 museums and art galleries, which are free of charge, and more than 200 other cultural organizations, including the Scottish Opera, Scottish Ballet, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, and numerous theaters.

Glasgow has the liveliest club, pub, and live music scene in the UK outside of London. It also offers great shopping and a large variety of cafes and restaurants.

Sport is an important part of the culture in Glasgow. Glasgow regularly hosts international sporting events and is gearing up to host the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

About GlobaLinks Learning Abroad Programs

GlobaLinks Learning Abroad programs are created with individual student's goals in mind. Our programs are built around a unique Discovery Model which is delivered by our amazing staff, both in the U.S. and overseas. Our Discovery Model provides every student with an individualized experience through discovery in 5 key areas: personal, academic, cultural, social, and professional. Our North American staff counsels each student through the application and enrollment process, and our on-site Resident Coordinators set up a calendar of activities for students related to each area of discovery. These activities are more than just tourist excursions, and include opportunities like networking events, local festivals, gallery openings, and other similar events that you can't find in a travel book.

GlobaLinks Learning Abroad programs include everything you would expect in a study abroad program: guaranteed housing, 24-hour in-country support, an in-country multi-day orientation program, comprehensive pre-departure services, and discovery activities to make the most out of each student's experience. Students of all majors are welcome to apply, and no prior language skill is required even for foreign-speaking destinations as some or all courses are taught in English at each university. Scholarships are available.
