Who Should Apply

Program Overview
The University of Economics, Prague (Vysoká škola ekonomická v Praze) is the leading university in the field of management and economics in the Czech Republic and was founded in 1919.
The Central and East European Studies Program is a self-financed extension program founded at the University of Economics, Prague (VŠE). The CESP organizes two terms of Summer University in Prague for international students lasting four weeks. The Summer University offers intensive versions of basic CESP courses, field trips, and excursions. The courses taught in English include business practicalities, politics and business communication. Each 4-week term consists of three courses offered and EuroLearn students will enroll in two of them.
Location
The Czech Republic is a region rich in history and culture. Situated in the center of Europe, or as Czechs proudly say "in the heart of Europe," it is a bridge between East and West, both geographically and culturally.
The university itself is located in the center of Prague, the capitol of Czech Republic, within a couple minutes walk from historical monuments, medieval churches and other sites soaked with history. Prague indeed is a popular city in the eastern European region that combines a long and rich history with rapid industrial growth and a modern city life.
Academic Information
The CESP Summer program offers a total of four courses which are worth up to 3 credits each, and are taught completely in English. GlobaLinks Learning Abroad students will enroll in one to three of the available courses.
Available courses are condensed versions of those taught during the academic year.
The following courses have been offered in the past:
International Security in the Global Market
The Models of Economic Transformation of Post-Socialist Countries
International Marketing Communications with the Emphasis on Central Europe
European Cultural History and its Impact on Central Europe
About GlobaLinks Learning Abroad Programs
GlobaLinks Learning Abroad programs are created with individual student's goals in mind. Our programs are built around a unique Discovery Model which is delivered by our amazing staff, both in the U.S. and overseas. Our Discovery Model provides every student with an individualized experience through discovery in 5 key areas: personal, academic, cultural, social, and professional. Our North American staff counsels each student through the application and enrollment process, and our on-site Resident Coordinators set up a calendar of activities for students related to each area of discovery. These activities are more than just tourist excursions, and include opportunities like networking events, local festivals, gallery openings, and other similar events that you can't find in a travel book.
GlobaLinks Learning Abroad programs in Europe include everything you would expect in a study abroad program: guaranteed housing, 24-hour in-country support, comprehensive pre-departure services, and discovery activities to make the most out of each student's experience. Students of all majors are welcome to apply, and no prior language skill is required even for foreign-speaking destinations as some or all courses are taught in English at each university. Scholarships are available.
